Our favorite airplane -- the Boeing 787 Dreamliner -- is in the news again, this time for mechanical problems.
A Japan Airlines 787 just about took off from Boston with a significant fuel leak from the left wing. Lucky for them, another pilot notified ATC before they were able to depart, alerting them of the leak. The aircraft was towed back to the gate.
Airport emergency response personnel cleaned up the mess.
This is the second incident in two days for the Dreamliner -- at the same airport!
The first incident, also a Japan Airline 787, involved an electrical fire that stemmed from a battery in the belly of the aircraft. Emergency responders and ARFF teams put the fire out. There were no passengers on board at the time of the fire. The NTSB is investigating.
